Are your products cheaper in store?Updated 7 months ago
Stores are often able to offer our products at a lower price because they buy from regional distributors who purchase in truckload quantities and deliver to them weekly. As such it is a more cost effective business model and they are able to pass savings on to you, the consumer.
Contrary to popular belief, it is not more profitable to be an online business. Our online model has large expenses such as the cost of shipping, handling, customer support and infrastructure that requires us to sell at a higher price just to breakeven. It offers availability and convenience to our consumers but there are true costs we bear in this business. We think it's important to provide access to our products while we build a store base yet it's also important we are able to remain a healthy business so unfortunately we are unable to pass any savings on to consumers outside our auto-ship & save discount and periodic "deals" because of the costs incurred doing business online.
We work on a daily basis to add new retailers and new distributors throughout the USA and Canada. However, we commonly hear from distributors and retailers that "no one has requested your product" so we largely rely on consumers visiting their local neighborhood pet stores to request our product. This breaks down barriers with distributors and retailers making them more likely to stock our product quicker than normal.
I'm not sure if you have requested us at your local neighborhood store (commonly defined as any pet store except Petco or Petsmart) or if there are some stores you shop at nearby. If so, please provide us with the name and we can work to contact them to have a conversation about stocking us. Additionally, it is much appreciated if you could help by requesting our products to be carried at the store(s).
