Is your salmon wild-caught or farm-raised?Updated 7 months ago

We use Atlantic Salmon which is farm-raised according to very specific standards.

Atlantic Salmon is actually an at-risk species and wild fishing is highly protected making it very difficult to source wild-caught Atlantic Salmon.

Nonetheless, there has been a great development in the sustainable farming of Atlantic Salmon. Modern farming methods provide consistent, high-quality, sustainable & reliable supplies of salmon and when done properly aquaculture is crucial to supplement wild-caught fishing.

Farmed fishing of Atlantic Salmon also allows for more appropriate vitamin levels and lower levels of elements such as mercury.

We only source from the highest standard aquaculture farmers who meet the following standards including but not limited to:
- No use of growth hormones or antibiotics
- No poultry or by-products from mammals in feed; sourcing feed ingredients
sustainably
- Strict monitoring of water quality, surrounding habitat environments to prevent
overcrowding & minimize environmental impact or damage to surrounding natural
aquacultures
- Strict protocol to prevent fish from escaping into wild waters
- Protection from wildlife
- No use of pesticides or toxic chemical to treat nets or manage algae
- No genetic engineering
